Walking home from work tonight I was surprised to feel a slight chill in the air. As depressing as that initial inkling that summer is coming to an end, fall always brings with it a feeling of promise and excitement for me. Maybe it’s leftover from those glorious first few days of high school when you learned the boys you had grown up with had better looking older brothers with licenses or how I felt when I packed up the car each year on my way back to college. You never knew what you had in store, but you were ready for it.
With fall just around the corner, it’s inevitable that with the change in temperature there will be an equally dramatic change in fashion. At least I hope. I’d like to see this fall’s fashion go the way of Stephanie Tanner during a select few of the early years. If America can embrace leggings, rompers, and those ridiculous inverted pants that were in Interix’s window this summer, then they should fall at a modified Stephanie Tanner’s stylish feet.

Yes, we know this look didn’t turn out pretty…but how great was it for a little while? Something about this early look is reminiscent of the gorgeous Debbie Harry full of spunk and attitude. Now I’m not suggesting you go out and get a mullet or copy some of Stephanie’s teenage looks. All I’m saying is that it’s time for fashion to do something new and these two looks should be your inspiration. Something edgy in a feminine way. And it wouldn't hurt if you were listening to the Yeah Yeah Yeah's while shopping.
