90210 Problem

90210 has been amazing this season but two things have got to go.  The surf coach and the new surf team member. If these two people keep appearing things are going to go down the drain.

Liam doesn't deserve this Cece Deville look alike.  Keep this off the streets.

Kid Cudi in Pursuit

I've heard magic once again. This time it comes from Kid Cudi in a melodic collaboration with Ratatat and MGMT titled "Pursuit of Happiness" from his new album Man on the Moon: The End of Day. He's a man in pursuit of the life he wants and surely deserves. He sounds determined; best not to stand in his way.

Ratatat could make any song special as they are utterly fantastic. MGMT ain't half bad either. And the main maestro, Kid Cudi, is well, simply put, very cool. Together they've created something we may want to turn up on our boombox. I have no doubt that some of Cudi's dreams are coming true, but will it bring him happiness? Listen here.

The Many Faces of Luke Steele

I have formed a fascination with the person you see in the picture to the right. When the song Walking on a Dream came up in my Pandora mix I immediately wanted to know more about the band. I went to YouTube and searched for the song and got the link to the video. Not what I expected.

What I love about this video is how seriously this band is taking their theme. I think a lot of videos can be kind of boring when the band takes themselves too seriously trying to look cool. At first I thought that Empire of the Sun is committed to this theme but on a budget and a little misguided. However, I think that they could be just messing around. The more I watch this and their other videos the more intrigued I become. What exactly is the deal here? What function does the other dude play? I need info.

I turn to Google Images and Wikipedia and get answers. I find a million different pictures of him and also find out that he is married and has a daughter. Interesting and not what I expected.

His other band Sleepy Jackson has a much different sound and his look when playing with the band is much more typical. I also came across this interview which is totally different from his Empire of the Sun personality and he appears to be on some serious drugs. Again, no clue if this is all a big joke.

Recently he's been featured on What We Talkin' About from Jay Z's most recent album Blueprint 3. There's no question that Luke Steele is intriguing. He definitely has a sense of humor about himself but how far does it go? I'll be interested in learning more.

Julia Roberts Hearts Julia Roberts

Shame on me for watching Duplicity. Shame shame shame on me. I knew it was a bad idea from the moment it was suggested, but I reluctantly agreed. It's really not just that i didn't like the movie (which i didn't). The problem is that I have despised Julia and the throbbing vein in her forehead ever since I wasted two hours of my life watching Notting Hill.

Does anyone else realize that for the most part Julia Roberts hasn't played a different role in the past ten years? In all of her recent roles she plays the same self satisfied smug character, delivering her lines with a such a self satisfied tone that I want to throw my shoe at the screen.

Bottom line, Julia thinks she can do no wrong. So I'm posting this picture below as a little treat for all four readers of this blog to remind everyone that this isn't quite true. So Julia, to truly surprise us...why not try spicing up the resume and continue to shave your pits por favor.

90210 Season 2 Premire

Season 2 of 90210 doesn't disappoint. The show starts out with the the end of the school year drawing to a close and lots of drama. All the girls are rocking fabulous new hair styles (Silver in particular), fun makeup, and awesome outfits. It's definitely entertaining to watch just for the fashion aspect.

Something truly puzzling to me is the dance number that takes place mid party that resembles the end of Slum Dog Millionaire. This shouldn't have been included in the show.

Meanwhile in the midst of all the fun main character Annie (gag) is battling inner demons after finding out the person she hit in a drive by is dead (guarantee it turns out she did not do this). Turning to booze and promiscuous behavior is a great turn of events for the boring Annie character we're used to.

The show ends with the return of Liam and Naomi scoring a compromising picture of dumb Annie. This season promises pure gold.
